A statement posted on Brentford's official website said: "The Brentford Football Club has received complaints and inquiries regarding the behavior of defenseman Julian Jeanvier in the final minutes of the Sky Bet Championship match against West Bromwich Albion on 16 March.

The Football Federation also spoke about the incident and Julian gave a statement to the management, as well as video footage, and the club later learned that the FA did not plan to take legal action against Julian.

However, during talks with Julian, the defender admitted to spitting nearby supporters of West Bromwich Albion and asked the club to publish it in order to apologize to the fans involved in the incident.

"Brentford FC made it clear to Julian that this behavior was unacceptable, the problem was handled internally and is now considered closed."
