Manager Jurgen Klopp told Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster that he had an important role to play this season.

The 19-year-old, who scored twice in a 6-0 win in preparation phase against Tranmere, could save the Reds boss millions of dollars in the window of transfers he realizes all its potential.

He was lined up to fill the vacant boots by Daniel Sturridge as center forward third choice of the team after Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi, who has just signed a new contract.

However, Klopp wants the player to start developing his full game.

"I love the boy, he's a fantastic player, but one of the goals I would have scored," Klopp said.

"We knew that Rhian was a good player before. Why should I minimize this? I just do not want to talk after a game of the guy who scored two goals.

"I saw a very good game and Rhian is a fantastic player.

"One hundred percent [it is a big season] but it also depends on him. Divock Origi remains what is good news, Bobby Firmino is still there.

"Rhian Brewster is a great striker, he is a great talent and I already told him that he had an important role to play this year, but his importance depends on him.

"We'll see He also has to play in different positions – the center, the wing is possible, I think, we'll see how to align, but there will be opportunities for him, I'm sure."

To date, Liverpool has recruited the young Sepp Van Den Berg but should not make major signings this summer.

"Rhian Brewster, (Alex) Oxlade-Chamberlain did not play last year, all the young boys did not play for us last year," Klopp said.

"The transfer market is open. We will see what we are doing, but I do not think it will be the biggest window of transfer ever. "

In addition to the Brewster double, goals were also scored for Origi, Curtis Jones, Bobby Duncan and Nathaniel Clyne in a team that relied heavily on youth, many international remaining to return to training.

Among the players who won the Champions League 40 days ago, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Simon Mignolet, Joe Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Origi and Joel Matip all spent 45 minutes in Prenton Park.
