Chancellor Philip Hammond told the podcast "Politics Nick Robinson" that he would stop, with other deputies, a Brexit without agreement.

A departure without an agreement on 31 October remains the default legal position unless Parliament pbades a withdrawal agreement or the United Kingdom and the EU agree to extend the process.

Quoting President John Bercow, Hammond – who is expected to leave the Treasury later this month – said the Commons "would find a way" to prevent the UK from leaving the European Union without a legal agreement.

He also said that it would be "shocking" that the next Prime Minister is trying to bypbad parliament.
