And the actor isn’t the only one to star in the JK Rowling film adaptation as eagle-eyed fans wanked Prince Friedrich, played by Freddie Stroma, was Cormac McLaggen.

The actor, 34, played the role of arrogant quidditch player Griffindor in the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as well as the last two films.

Fans were stunned after making the connection to Prince Frederick of Prussia from Queen Charlotte – a far cry from the reckless quidditch keeper.

One wrote on Twitter: ‘I finally found out where I knew Prince Friedrich of Bridgerton from! The actor played Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter! I knew he looked familiar!

While another viewer on the show added: ‘I finally understood why Prince Friedrich of Bridgerton seemed so familiar. Of course! The character is played by the same actor who played the boring Cormac McLaggen from Harry Potter !!!

The actor, 31, starred onscreen for about three seconds as he stood alongside Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) at the Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour wedding reception.

This is the scene where Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and his friends were terrorized by the partying Death Eaters before they vanished into Tottenham Court Road.

Bridgerton debuted on Christmas Day and has remained at the top of Netflix’s most watched list for the past two weeks, proving to be a massive success.

And the show could likely go from being an overnight sensation to an eight-season run, according to the creator of the Netflix hit.

Chris Van Dusen, the showrunner, said: ‘Being a family of eight kids and eight books, I wish I could focus and really tell stories and love stories for all of Bridgerton’s siblings. For each character, of course. I would like to.’

Book two follows Daphne Bridgerton’s older brother, Anthony, who is in search of a bride.

Julia Quinn calls her sequel books “second epilogues.”

Bridgerton is expected to rack up over 63 million views by the end of January.

Netflix has not confirmed further installments but an announcement seems inevitable.
