Everyone knows that American society is deeply divided over what America is, what it defends and what it is doing. The divisions of American society were unearthed after President Trump's dazzling victory in 2016, even though they existed long before. Issues such as trade, immigration, second amendment, DACA, homobaduality, religion and abortion have been among the main issues that have deeply embedded Americans in various points of view. view.
Nancy Pelosi represents the point of view totally opposed to the views and feelings that paved the way for Donald Trump's rise. As such, Nancy Pelosi and her party have not been able to agree perfectly with the President of the United States on so many issues that have stagnated the legislative achievements and future development of their country. .
As is generally known in politics, compromise, tolerance and respect are necessary for political leaders to work together for the good of the people, especially when their political affiliations and beliefs are different. Although, without a doubt, Donald Trump has his share of mistakes, I am concerned about the errors of Nancy Pelosi, since she is in my country to address my parliament.
It is always nice for Ghana to maintain good relations with other countries, especially the United States, which are good friends of Ghana and have supported and influenced us in many ways. So there is nothing wrong with treating Pelosi with the utmost respect and welcoming him, but we should do so, on the understanding that she is not the President of the United States and does not speak officially for United States.
In addition, I do not think she is a good example to stand in front of our parliament while she has trouble respecting and accepting her duly elected president. It is known that she openly described her president as a racist and expressed her desire to see Trump in prison. In short, it is toxic. The Parliament of Ghana must be careful not to show any form of support if it tries to disrespect its president. At the same time, we must, by observing it, strengthen our determination to improve our democracy based on freedom, justice, respect and tolerance.
Ghana has already turned its back on President Trump and the United States when we decided to condemn the United States for sending their own embbady to Jerusalem, which was welcomed by the Israeli people who, at least, control fully the city. I think that decision was extremely regrettable, especially since we could have simply abstained from voting.
In addition, Ghana has had or has diplomatic problems with the United States over deported Africans whom the United States has identified as being Ghanaians whom the Government of Ghana has or refuses to accept. It is clear that Ghana, in the Trump era, is not on the same footing as Trump's policies that affect us directly or indirectly.
As such, attracting a major political enemy of President Trump after the unfortunate United Nations vote and our diplomatic talks with the United States to speak in front of our parliament can be a major disaster if Pelosi unleashed scathing anti-Trump sentiments which would suggest that Ghana disagreed. with Trump. I think we should pay more attention and pay more attention to the internal problems of the countries we admire so that we do not become pawns in the internal affairs of another country.
At the end of the day, President Trump remains the head of the United States, and if Ghana is really looking for good relations with the United States in Trump's time, then we must seek to develop better relations with the United States. this last.
