Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain, is interested in a £ 2.5 billion takeover of Chelsea.

Ratcliffe, who owns a subscription card at Stamford Bridge, is worth more than £ 21 billion and would explore the possibility of taking over at Stamford Bridge.

The 66-year-old Team Sky recently bought Team Sky and has also made a £ 77 million offer for the French club Nice in February.

Ratcliffe already owns a football club and took over the Swiss club Lausanne in 2017.

The current owner of Chelsea, Roman Abramovich, would not have monitored the side since the expiry of his visa in 2018, the Russian tycoon having withdrawn his request for an extension.

The 52-year-old citizen has become an Israeli citizen and, although he has not attended a match for more than a year, would probably not have intended to sell his club.

Abramovich bought Chelsea for only £ 140 million in 2003. This investment has created the club of West London in the European elite.

According to the Mirror, Ratcliffe estimates that a £ 2.5 billion offer could persuade the Russians to sell.
