BRITISH Airways apologized after pbadengers were falsely informed that their flights had been canceled following the announcement that its pilots would strike for three days next month.

The British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa) announced the strike after 93% of its members rejected an increase of 11.5% over three years.

But it has now become clear that some pbadengers have been wrongly informed that their flight will be canceled and that they have been advised to make a new reservation.

A spokesman for the airline said: "We are contacting all these customers this afternoon to say that their flight will go as planned.

"We are sorry for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused."

He added that anyone who would spend money on alternative arrangements should contact British Airways "and we will treat each case on an individual basis".

The spokesman said that some flights outside strike days would be affected, but most of the canceled flights involved the three-day strike.
