A transatlantic plane from BRITISH Airways was forced to land urgently after a steward "knocked out" tonight in a luggage locker over his head.
The Boeing 747 took off from Heathrow at about 5:45 pm and headed for Washington D.C.
But the flight was forced to turn back over the Atlantic and turn away from London.
A crew member aboard the jumbo is supposed to have hit his head against a luggage locker, about an hour after the flight started.
He was allegedly stunned during this accident, forcing the pilot to declare a medical emergency.
A flight tracking website claimed that the pilot of flight BA293 was to empty the fuel from the plane over the sea before returning to Heathrow.
The injured crew member was taken by ambulance to a London hospital, but his condition is unknown.
The flight was scheduled to depart Heathrow at 5:15 pm Friday.
A BA spokesperson said, "The safety and well-being of everyone on board our flights is always our priority, and fortunately in-flight injuries are extremely rare.
"The crew member was taken to the hospital on landing."
