Kwasi Alfred Addo Kwarteng, a Ghanaian politician and a native of the British Conservative Party, was promoted on Thursday, July 25, 2019 by the new British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

Kwarteng has been a member of Parliament since 2010 in Spelthorne, Surrey, in southeastern England.

On November 16, 2018, he was appointed Undersecretary of State in the Departement of the European Union following the resignation of Sue-Ellen Braverman.

Kwasi Kwarteng was promoted Thursday, July 25, 2019 to the post of British Minister of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. He is a prominent member of the government present in government.

Born in Waltham Forest, Kwasi Kwarteng studied at Eton College and then at the University of Cambridge, where he studied for a PhD in British history.

A graduate of Harvard University, he has written several books, including Ghost of Empire: War and Gold and Thatcher's Trial.

Kwasi Kwarteng was also a member of the Public Accounts Committee of the United Kingdom and Private Parliamentary Secretary to the House of Lords Leader, Baroness Evans of Bowes Park.

Since being elected as a Member of Parliament in 2010, he has always supported local businesses and called on Parliament for business-friendly reforms.

One of Kwasi Kwarteng's accomplishments is finding the local entrepreneurs of tomorrow. He launched the Spelthorne Business Plan Competition in 2013

He was often tipped to become the black prime minister of the Conservative government of Britain. Popularly known as "The black Boris"he could go to the top.

The project was supported by GEFSGPGhana of UNDP Ghana to launch the pilot phase of this commendable initiative.
