The stars traveled to Salford tonight for the 2019 British Soap Awards and slipped into their most spectacular outfits for the red carpet party.

In addition to a competition for trophies, it seems that there is also a fierce competition to steal the show on the red carpet.

The first soap ladies arrived at the Lowry Theater with an amazing look with their fashionable dresses.

Lucy Fallon, of Coronation Street, shows the way forward as she turns around in a plunging white dress.

The actress arrived with her boyfriend Tom Leech, but all eyes were turned towards Lucy.

It's a huge night for Hollyoaks star, Stephanie Davis, who is looking for a prize after returning to the Channel 4 soap opera.

She made sure to dress to impress in a long pink dress, which she complimented with her boyfriend on the arm.

Owen Warner, who looked smart in costume, could not help holding her hands as they posed together to take pictures in front of the room.

Sair Khan is another soap queen who dominated the red carpet tonight. She was gorgeous in a yellow summer dress.

This is the biggest party of the soap calendar and EastEnders and Hollyoaks are leading the way in appointment, while Coronation Street was the 20th anniversary winner in 2018.

The awards are presented by Phillip Schofield live from the Lowry Theater in Salford and the show is broadcast on ITV.

Many of these awards are decided by a public vote, while others are awarded by a group of industry experts.

There will surely be fierce competition tonight as the stars fight to win the biggest trophies.

However, it is not only the drama that is being celebrated on the screen: Hollyoaks actress Nadine Mulkerrin used the event to confirm that she was pregnant with her first child.

The actress, who plays Cleo McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera, confirmed that she was expecting a baby with her fiancé and co-starred Rory Douglas-Speed, 27 years old.
