BTS writes history to Grammys – Variety

The Korean boys group BTS has entered the story tonight as the first group of K-pop to present at the Grammy Awards.

The band took the stage for the best R & B album, awarding the Grammy to H.E.R. for his eponymous album.

"Growing up in South Korea, we have always dreamed of being on the Grammy Stage," said RM. "Thanks to all our fans for realizing this dream and we will come back."

After arriving on the music scene in 2016, BTS – Bangtan Sonyeondan or "Beyond the Scene" – became an international fame after three world tours and several hit albums. Their newest, "Love Yourself: Tear," became K-Pop's first album to reach No. 1 on Billboard's 200-top album and was also nominated for the best recording package (for example, artwork) at this year's Grammys, alongside HuskyFox brand outfits.

Other nominees in the category of best recordings include Mitski for "Be the Cowboy", St. Vincent for "Mbadeduction", Chairman of the Board for "The Offering" and Foxhole for "Well Kept Thing" – the award went at "Mbadeduction".

The group also broke barriers for a long time and became the first Korean pop band to perform at the American Music Awards in November of last year, as well as the first Korean artists to perform at Citi Field stadium in New York.
