Buhari declares that his government's duty is to imprison the looters

President Muhammadu Buhari said on Saturday that the duty of his administration was to imprison those who had looted the national treasure.

He said that his government's responsibility was to send to prison those who had been enriched by corruption by plunging their hands into the Commonwealth of the country.

The president said that in Lagos during the presidential gathering of the All Progressive Congress, where he had promised that if he was re-elected, he would continue to focus on the promises he had made in 2015.

The President promised to bring to justice those who had not yet returned the funds stolen by Nigeria before sending them to prison.

Buhari said: "I badure you that the promises we made in 2015, on the basis of which you elected us, have made tremendous progress and I have already mentioned what the administration is doing in terms of security. , economy and fight against corruption.

"I badure you, whoever is entrusted (with public property), his primary responsibility is to report on it.

"If the good thing is not done, we will eventually have them; take off what they stole and imprison them.

"It's our duty; it is our responsibility and I badure you that we will continue to do so. "

Buhari said he was looking forward to the people's support for re-election.
