Artist’s director Bulldog, known in private as Nana Asiamah Hanson, has revealed influential people in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including John Dramani Mahama, have supported him during his brief incarceration by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB).
Bulldog was arrested by NIB officials last week for allegedly threatening President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during a talk about an entertainment program on Accra-based TV station UTV.
He was held for approximately 24 hours before being handed over to the police by the NIB for further investigation.
He was then released on bond of GH ¢ 70,000.00 with three bonds by a circuit court in Accra.
According to media reports, he said that “the president will not complete his term and run away if he does not pay their deposits to Menzgold clients.”
He was charged with offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace, but pleaded not guilty.
Speaking to his social media pages after his release, he said he was honored to have received calls from the best guns in the NDC.
“Countless thanks to my older brothers, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and Ibrahim Mahama. Your Excellency, the call of consolation and the wise advice was humiliating! God bless you sir.
“To the national organizer of the NDC, Comrade Joshua Akamba, to the entire executive, leadership, base of the Democratic National Congress around the world, words cannot express my appreciation for the concern and support. Thank you very much, ”he wrote.
He also praised the entertainment industry for its support.
Bulldog is popular as an outspoken expert who occasionally makes searing comments on radio and television.
