The 23 victims of Kintampo accident cremated during the fire of their bus during the horrific crash of Friday at Amoma Nkwanta in South Kintampo district of Bono region East were buried Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Jema.

The 35 were burned beyond recognition.

They were among 57 people who died in the crash around 2 am in a collision between two buses.

The other bodies, which can be identified, would be given to their families for burial.

Fifty-three survivors of the accident are in the hospital.

Alexander Gyan, director general of Kintampo South District, and his Garu-Tempane colleague Emmanuel Asore Avoka, met to decide on the mbad burial. Both buses came from their jurisdictions.

The bodies of 20 other people who also died in the accident will be handed over to their families once the necessary identity documents have been identified.
