SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – Utah's business leaders met on Thursday to reaffirm their support for the principles of the Utah Immigration Pact.

The leaders say they recognize and support the positive impact of immigrants on the economy of Utah.

The signatories of the pact claim to be engaged in reforms that strengthen the economy of our state and encourage people to occupy critical positions to accelerate the growth of the state.

The president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber, Derek Miller, says that it's a milestone.

"By renouncing the Pact of Utah, have reaffirmed important principles." Sensitive to family concerns, economic concerns, and law enforcement, all these principles offer a perspective from which this Political debate should take place, "said Miller.

The Utah Immigration Pact was adopted in 2010.
