Evaristo Kabila rejoices at his continental club meeting with Ghanaians on February 24

Nkana FC President Evaristo Kabila aims to defeat Asante Kotoko on February 24th at the Confederation Cup of Caf, but said the Zambians' immediate attention was on the national league meet with Power Dynamos.

The Reds will welcome the Ghanaian team on the third day of the Confederation Cup group stage, one week after being posted to the top flight.

On Wednesday, Nkana relaunched her continental campaign with a 2-1 victory over Sudan's Al Hilal Omdurman. The same day, Kotoko sent 2-1 to Zesco United, his national rival, in the other Group C match.

"Nkana FC is bigger than Zesco United and I do not see [reason in Kotoko getting overly excited] after having beaten them, "said Kabila Angel FM.

"We have a very important match this weekend against Power Dynamos, Kotoko's match will take place in about seven days.

"We are focusing on the league match and then on Kotoko.

"Kotoko is a very good team and we respect them a lot.

"All Ghanaians who come to Zambia should feel free and come in. The safety of all is badured.

"We hope to win and make the Nkana fans proud in the same way we faced Al Hilal."

Interestingly, Nkana lost 2-0 to Zesco in a Zambian-only affair on the opening day of the Confederations Cup.

The four teams in Group C have three points in their name, leaving things open.

The first two after the series will qualify for the quarter-finals.
