Asante Kotoko beat Wednesday home Zesco United (10-1) at home to revive its campaign of Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors started the game very aggressively with a few quick pbades, but fainted late.

Midfielder Kwame Bonsu took the lead for nine minutes. His team-mate Abdul Fatawu Safiu was the victim of a ricochet that allowed him to beat Zesco United's Jacob N ° 1, Jacob Banda.

But the credit goes to the Burkina importer Sogne Yacouba who attacked the left flank and dribbled past Simon Silwimba before giving a pbad to Bonsu inside the repair bench.

Zesco had the chance to draw after a penalty kick in the 23rd minute, but goalkeeper Felix Annan scored the goal for Jesse Jackson.

Defender Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was sanctioned for a two-foot tackle on Lazarus Kambole in the penalty area.

Just before the half-hour mark, winger Emmanuel Gyamfi doubled Kotoko's lead after connecting the striker to Yacouba's low pbad to the outside of his boot from the left.

Zesco made a tactical change in the 39th minute when Enock Sabumukama replaced Clement Mwape.

At the start of the second half, Yacouba had a chance to score, but he pulled into the arm of goalkeeper Banda.

Ghanaian striker Rahim Osmanu slipped off the bench to score one for the Zambian champions in the 72nd minute.

He slipped between the two central Kotoko defenders and headed past Annan.

Ten minutes from the end, Maxwell Baakoh shot from outside the area but Banda was ready to parry it.

In the 85th minute, Annan made a great save to put Rahim Osmanu's header on a corner.

Two minutes from the end, Bonsu was denied a personal double and the third for Kotoko when his head fell off the post.

It was after Baakoh's shooting was repelled.

Zesco United ended the match with ten men when Kondwani Mtonga received a red card for a silly tackle, deliberately replacing Stephen Nyarko.
