CAF, the African football leader, eliminated Ismaily from Egypt's African Champions League club after crowd problems against the Tunisian club.
The crowd's problems led to the dropping of the group stage match last Friday, forcing the Cairo-based organization to act quickly.
Cameroonian referee Neant Alioum canceled the match in the final stages after a long stoppage, while Ismaily's angry fans did not stop throwing bottles on the pitch and their team led 2-1.
He was escorted off the field by security agents amid unfortunate scenes, about six months before Egypt organized the African Cup of Nations. Ismailia is one of the cities to host the 24-team tournament.
"The organizing committee of the club competitions … decided to apply the rules of the competition and officially announce the elimination of Ismaily from the Champions League of the CAF, "said the CAF in a letter that she sent to the Egyptian Football Federation.
"The overall results of the matches in which the team participated are canceled without prejudice to other penalties that may be imposed by the Disciplinary Board of CAF."
Ismaily is the second club to be excluded from Africa's flagship group stage competition in less than three years after Algeria's ES Setif, deported for similar reasons in 2016.
Bobby Shilongo, Ismaily's new rookie, scored a quick goal, but two penalties from Ghazi Ayadi tipped the match, the second in particular provoking strong protests from local fans.
Alioum had initially obtained a free kick after Richard Baffour had triggered Ybadine Chamakhi's onslaught, before changing after consulting one of his badistants. The TV rebroadcasts showed that contact had taken place outside the area.
The send-off of the second half was delayed by the tighter pace, reaching its peak about five minutes before the lineman hit the field to avoid being touched by the a barrage of projectiles.
The crowd showed no sign of slowing down despite repeated requests from Ismaily 's technical staff, Alioum decided to suspend the match.
After canceling the results of Ismaily, Algerian CS Constantine is leading the group with three points.
TP Mazembe and Club Africain, who both beat Ismaily, have no points.
The first two will qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
