Asante Kotoko confirmed that CAF had officially written them to warn them of the green nature of the Baba Yara terrain.

The Porcupine Warriors have played in their last two CAF Confederation Cup matches at Bara Stadium, but CAF has warned them that they need to improve the green nature of the field, otherwise they risk sanctions.

This was confirmed by the two operations managers, Ernest Owusu Ansah, and Accante's representative Edmund Ackah to Asante Kotoko in an interview with Nhyira Fm, based in Kumasi.

Professor Peter Twumasi, director general of the National Sports Authority (NSA), revealed in an interview with Nhyira Fm newspaper that no renovation had been carried out after the CAN 2008, which led to a bad quality of the land.

He added that the NSA was working with Frank Boahen's Green Grbad Technology to ensure the ground is in good condition and that CAF can continue to allow Asante Kotoko to use it.

The Reds hope measures will be put in place for them to use the field in their next Confederation Cup Group C draw when they face Zambia's Zesco United on Feb. 13.
