Black Stars striker Caleb Ekuban met his Ghanaians for the first time after arriving for the African Nations Cup qualifier against Kenya on Saturday.

The star of Trabzonspor was the hero of the match last night after climbing on the bench to secure victory in Ghana.

Born in Italy, the 24-year-old hardly goes to Ghana, but after receiving his first call, the attacker took a leave to meet his family.

Ekuban is currently in camp as the team prepares to face Mauritania in a friendly on Tuesday.

The former Italian International Youth should join the Kwesi Appiah team for the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The striker, on loan from England's Leeds United, has played 21 games with Trabzonspor in Super Lig and has four goals to his credit.
