Call for investigation on Sala transfer flights

He asked Dominic Lazrus, Director of Civil Aviation of the Channel Islands, in collaboration with the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority, to look into the background of the flights involved in the Mr. Sala from Nantes to Cardiff.

These flights carried Mr. Sala, his agent, City of Cardiff officials and others between the United Kingdom and France in December and January.

David Ibbotson, a 28-year-old Argentine attacker and pilot, died as a result of the Piper Malibu aircraft he was traveling in north of Guernsey on 21 January.

Since the accident, questions have arisen as to whether Mr. Ibbotson flew under his license, as private pilots can not carry paying pbadengers.

This question is part of a larger survey conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Directorate.
