“The kitchen of hell”: The reality show returns for season 19 and features eight former contestants competing against eight new cooks. (8 p.m. Thursday, Fox)
“Sir. Higher”: Ted Danson returns in a new sitcom created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock (“30 Rock”), in which Danson plays a retired businessman who is unexpectedly victorious in his long campaign for mayor of Los Angeles. The cast includes Holly Hunter and Bobby Moynihan. (8 p.m. Thursday, NBC)
“The hunt”: Sara Haines is hosting a new quiz, inspired by a British format, in which players will compete with a “Chaser”, an expert who tries to outdo the competition. The “pursuers” include James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, who earned high prime-time ratings last year when they faced off in “Jeopardy! The greatest of all time. (9 p.m. Thursday, ABC)
“Go-Big Show”: A new talent show – and talents include things like training alligators and driving monster trucks – hosted by Bert Kreischer, with famous judges such as Snoop Dogg, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles, and Cody Rhodes. (9 p.m. Thursday, TBS)
“The Hustler”: Craig Ferguson hosts a game show with a twist – one gamer secretly knows the answers. (10 p.m. ABC)

Discovery Plus: Another new streaming service is launched, this one from the media company whose channels include Discovery, HGTV, TLC, Food Network and Travel Channel. The streaming service promises subscribers access to cable favorites, as well as original series. Choices include spinoffs from the popular “90 Day Fiance” franchise; a preview of some of the upcoming shows at Magnolia Network from Chip and Joanna Gaines; “Bobby and Giada in Italy”, with Food Network stars Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis; “The Impossible Row”; and more. Discovery Plus will cost $ 4.99 per month, with an ad-free version available for $ 6.99 per month, with some Verizon customers eligible for a year of streaming service. “History of profanity”: Nicholas Cage hosts an ironic documentary series exploring the history and uses of some of the more common words you are not supposed to say in polite company. (Available to stream from Tuesday, Netflix)
“Coyote:” Michael Chiklis stars as a retiring border patrol officer who must decide to help a pregnant Mexican teenager cross the US border (CBS All Access)

“Cobra Kai”: Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are returning for Season 3 of the series which takes them back to roles they played in the popular “Karate Kid” movies years ago. (Available to stream from Friday, Netflix)
