The National Labor Commission (NLC) has been called upon to summon the parties involved in the issues that have resulted in the protest action of the Association of University Teachers of Ghana (UTAG).
This call comes after the authorities at the University of Ghana, Legon decided to postpone the next exams for 100 level and 400 level students.
“In addition, the resumption of the 200 level and 300 level bundles for the second semester 2020/2021 has been postponed,” a notice to all students said on Friday August 6.
This is due to the ongoing UTAG strike.
The University of Ghana’s Business and Executive Committee made the decisions at a meeting on Friday.
The notice stated that despite the decisions, the university remains open but “academic activities will resume when services are restored”.
It comes hours after Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) announced an indefinite postponement of end-of-semester exams.

“Stakeholders will be kept informed of any development,” concluded the notice published by the registrar.
The UTAG went on strike on Monday August 2, demanding better conditions of service.
Speaking on key points on TV3 on Saturday, August 7, Center for Social Justice Board Chairman Dr Sodzi Sodzi Tetteh said the NLC must ensure parties fulfill their parts of the agreement. in order to solve the problems.
“I think at this point the Labor Commission needs to go beyond just declaring the legality or illegality of the action and call on both sides and really make sure that when the agreements have been flouted and are not implemented, they force the government to come back. on the right track because in the end, it is the students who end up suffering, ”he told host Dzifa Bampoh.
