Cameron Boyce: the star Disney Descendants dies at age 20

The family of actor Cameron Boyce confirmed that the Disney star had died at the age of 20.

A spokesman said that he had died in his sleep after an epileptic seizure.

He debuted in the horror film Mirrors, but it's mostly for his roles in Disney Descendants and the television show Jessie.

His death was confirmed on the evening of Saturday, July 6 and was related to "a state of health in progress".

"It is with a heavy heart that we report that we lost Cameron this morning," said a spokesperson on behalf of his family.

"He died in his sleep as a result of a seizure resulting from a medical condition for which he was being treated.

"The world is now without any doubt without one of its brightest lights, but its spirit will live through the kindness and compbadion of all who knew and loved it.

"We are heartbroken and ask for the protection of our privacy during this extremely difficult time as we mourn the loss of our precious son and brother."

Cameron Boyce was only nine years old when he appeared in Mirrors. He then played one of Sandler's children in the movie Grown Ups.

However, it was on Disney's television channel, Jessie, that he became known as Luke Ross.

This led him to play the role of Carlos de Vil in Descendants, the popular TV movie series that retraces the lives of children of Disney villains.

A Disney Channel spokesman described Boyce as "an incredibly talented artist."

They said: "Cameron Boyce dreamed from an early age of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world.

"Young man, his humanitarian work has nurtured the desire to make a difference in people's lives.

"He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and considerate person and, above all, a loving, dedicated son, a brother, a grandson and a loving friend.

"We offer our most sincere condolences to his family, his castmates and his colleagues and join his millions of fans in mourning his pbading and we will miss him tremendously."

Cameron Boyce shared a black and white photo of himself on Instagram the day before his death.
