Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah named his 29 provisional players Wednesday ahead of the CAN in Egypt.

The list predicts that five players will be called for the first time, two of them doing their homework in Ghana.

The team is expected to start camping on June 1 at its Dubai base, where head coach Kwesi Appiah will reduce the team to 23 before the tournament.

Ghana is part of Group F alongside Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau, as the country seeks to end its 37 years of waiting for the title.

Here's what you need to know about the 5 beginners of the Black Stars team.

The 22-year-old center back plays for the Swiss club St. Gallen after being loaned to Ghana's WAFA club in August 2018. The deal will be finalized on July 1, 2019, the date on which his contract with WAFA will end. At 6'4 inches, Musah has a real aerial threat and is also able to play in the defensive midfielder.
