Can the protests in Sudan succeed? | Africa

[ad_1]

National events have been taking place in Sudan almost every day for a month.

They are the longest in decades and the most important in the country's recent history.

The demonstrations were motivated by rising prices for bread and fuel. But the protesters soon turned to other problems and are now demanding the resignation of President Omar al-Bashir.

Bashir's response was a crackdown by the security forces. Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds arrested in recent weeks.

Where can the events go? And will international pressure make a difference?
