According to researchers at the University of Cambridge, this emotional response to the subject causes emotional distress and behavioral problems in students.
The study of nearly 2,000 British students and 1,000 Italian pupils revealed that the general feeling that mathematics was more difficult than other subjects contributed strongly to this anxiety.
