The two rescued Canadian girls who were released Wednesday in a hiding place from their kidnappers in Kumasi are receiving "psychological and emotional support," said the NGO that runs them.
Youth Challenge International (YCI) said they were released peacefully and also spoke to their parents.
"Early this morning, Lauren Tilley and Bailey Chitty were rescued by Ghanaian police. They are safe and the police and the government of Ghana are protecting young women in Ghana, "the NGO said in a statement.
He added, "The parents of the two young women have been in touch with their daughters and now wish to express their deepest gratitude to the Ghanaian police, the Ghanaian and Canadian governments for their support and actions throughout this extremely difficult time. . .
"Bailey and Lauren receive emotional and psychological support from professionals as they return home. Medical reports indicate that they are not physically injured. For the moment, we can not comment on the actions of the police, the rescue or the perpetrators of the abduction.

The government announced the release of girls Wednesday after a "successful operation" of national security – a week after the abduction of girls.
