Cancellations of BC Ferries continue after pbading a ferry damaged by high winds

Several departures between Tsawwbaden and Swartz Bay have been canceled

A BC Ferries ship is out of service, forcing several departures to be canceled on Sunday.

The Spirit of British Columbia ferry, which runs between Tsawwbaden and Swartz Bay, is out of service after being damaged during the attempted berthing in the high winds of Saturday, the company said.

As a result, three round trips starting with a departure from Swartz Bay at noon were canceled.

BC Ferries stated that all customers involved in the cancellation would be notified by email and receive a full refund.

The company is working to find a replacement ferry for the affected crossings.

"Once the departure of the ships is restored, the usual practice is to first load the customers with a reservation for their scheduled departure, as they have not been canceled," said BC Ferries. "All other customers will be loaded in the order of registration at the terminal."
