General Captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan
Asamoah Gyan reiterated his desire to see coach Kwasi Appiah guide the Black Stars to lift the CAN AFCON 2019 due to start next month.
After fruitful reconciliation discussions between Gyan and coach Appiah about a recent captains' conflict, the former reiterated his desire to see the goblin guide the Black Stars to the Promised Land.
Gyan had announced his retirement from the national team after the coach made the decision to make Andre Ayew the new captain of the team.
Gyan was forced to organize a quick return from his international retirement after Ghana's president, Nana Akufo-Addo, ordered him to cancel his decision.
The former captain of Ghana, now captain general of the team, respected the order of the president and annulled his decision.
After his return, the Kayserispor striker held a reconciliation meeting with the gaffer that took place on Tuesday.
According to sources at the meeting, Gyan pledged his support to the coach and reiterated his desire to support his diary to win the CAN trophy, which has eluded Ghana for 37 years.
Gyan will participate for the seventh time in the CAN. He remains the most capped player in Ghana and the highest scorer of all time.
The former Sunderland striker is part of a 29-man squad named by coach Kwasi Appiah to start a three-week camp in Dubai ahead of CAN AFCON in Egypt.
