Captain Marvel is in the theaters and storms the box office, but some fans are wondering whether it is worth paying extra for IMAX.
The latest MCU movie sees Brie Larson star as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, as we discover her story before Avengers: Endgame.
Although everyone knows that the movie experience guarantees you to see the movie in all its splendor, what about IMAX?
We watched Captain Marvel at BFI IMAX in London to see what was the difference in visual experience.
We also saw the movie in 3D, which adds to the experience, although you do not need to see this one in 3D.
IMAX adds scale to the blockbuster, with chase scenes, especially when Danvers is engaged in a chase and climbs to the top of the subway train.
Later, for combat scenes and spatial scenes, the IMAX really adds extra scale and depth.
Sound is also a determining factor for IMAX, with a surround sound system that rivals the normal screen.
So, should you choose IMAX rather than the usual cinema? Yes, if you want to experience a blockbuster superhero. The 3D adds little this time, but seeing Captain Marvel in battle or flying on a bigger screen really gives life to the movie.
