Captain Marvel is memorable for many reasons.
It is the first Marvel film to be performed by an actress (Brie Larson), a director (Anna Boden) and a composer (Pinar Toprak).
It also contains one of those battle scenes that stomp you in the head for punching and energetic explosions programmed to the rhythm of a shattering punk-rock song.
This song is "Just a Girl" from the 80s No Doubt rock band, some of whom, the youngest, may not have realized, introduced Gwen Stefani as lead singer.
Stefani listened to Larson and co-star Samuel L. Jackson singing "Just a Girl" in an episode of Carpool Karaoke, available on the Apple TV app.
And she loves it
"It's ridiculously unbelievable," Stefani told Larson and Jackson on Sunday, with a link to their performances.
Stefani is the lead singer of No Doubt rockers since their formation in 1986. Between two hiatus, Stefani went solo in 2004 with the pillars of the party "Rich Girl" and "Hollaback Girl". No Doubt released "Just a Girl" as a single with their 1995 album Tragic Kingdom.
Not just a superhero, Larson herself had a career in music. It is not surprising that she can play a song. His first and only album "Finally Out of P.E." was released in 2005.
Other songs that will make you feel like Captain Marvel's soundtrack include: TLC's Waterfalls, Heart's Crazy on You, and Nirvana's Come As You Are.
No response on Twitter from Larson and Jackson at the moment, but I would be happy if they answered with an interpretation of "Do not Speak".
