Cardi B leads nominations for 2018 Video Music Awards

Expecting mother, Cardi B received head nods in 10 categories, including "Video", "Song" and "Artist of the Year", and The Carters Secured Eight, including "Video of the Year," "Best Collaboration" and "Best Hip Hop", among others, topping the list of nominations for the 2018 Video Music Awards. Other contenders include Beyonce, Jay-Z, Childish Gambino, Drake and Bruno Mars.

"This year has already been a monumental year for music, and this year's VMAs will take things to a whole new level," said Bruce Gillmer, Head of Music and Music Talent at Global Entertainment. Group, Viacom. "The extraordinary group of nominees amazed us with their talent and inspired us with their creativity – and when we bring them together for one night, anything is possible."

Nominations touch all non-badist categories for music video 2018 Awards (VMA). The list includes dozens of artists whose scope and influence have elevated the relevance of music in cultural conversation.
