Cardiff call for action after the revelation of a pilot Emiliano Sala "was not qualified to fly at night"

The city of Cardiff issued a statement demanding that those responsible for the organization of the flight that killed Emiliano Sala be held "fully accountable".

In their strongest statement to date, the club has expressed its shock at the revelations of pilot David Ibbotson who was not qualified to fly at night.

According to the BBC, Mr. Ibbotson was color-blind and could not have obtained a night flight permit.

Sala was found on the seabed of the Channel after the flight from France, where the signing of the Bluebirds record had returned to Nantes to bid farewell to his teammates and his staff.

Ibbotson is still not counted.

In a statement, Cardiff said: "The city of Cardiff is shocked to hear the pilot, David Ibbotson, may not have been allowed to fly at night.

"The club remains deeply concerned that the pilot, as well as those who organized the flight, appear to have completely ignored the flight rules and put Mr. Sala's life in danger.

"We believe that those responsible should be held fully accountable for their actions.

"We reiterate our support for the Air Charter Association's call for greater awareness and enforcement of the law against illegal theft."

Sala had been signed by Cardiff for £ 15 million from Nantes in January and was to lead the Welsh team for the survival of the Premier League.

It has been reported that Cardiff will tell FIFA that he will not pay the transfer fee due to the death of the attacker rendering the switch "void and void".
