Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Napoli was planning to resume his option to buy David Ospina this summer.
Goalkeeper Ospina, 30, was loaned by Arsenal to Naples in August to allow a permanent transfer of £ 4 million.
Ospina returned to the Neapolitan side on Sunday for his 0-0 draw against Turin after his last four games.
He claimed that his absence was due to a clause in his contract providing for Naples to make his move permanent once he would have had a number of appearances.
Ancelotti, however, said: "Ospina was to play Thursday in the Europa League, but did not feel up to it, so I turned things around and used it against Torino.
"Ospina will stay in Naples next season, no matter how many games he plays."
Ospina was ousted in the Emirates after the summer arrival of Bernd Leno who pushed him further down the hierarchy.
Petr Cech's retirement at the end of the season will again open a vacancy in the goalkeeper's department but the Gunners are targeting Nick Pope, Burnley's English goalkeeper, to compete with Leno.
