Carlos Ghosn accused former Nissan officials of "stabbing" and declared himself innocent.

In a video made before his new arrest by Japanese prosecutors last week, he said he was the victim of a "conspiracy".

Ghosn's legal team held a press conference in Tokyo on Tuesday to broadcast the video.

He faces charges of financial misconduct and breach of trust.

Aged 65, he has denied any wrongdoing since his arrest for the first time in November and has continued to firmly reject any misconduct in the video message.

"I am innocent of all the charges that have been brought against me, and my greatest wish is to have a fair trial," Ghosn said.

He was the architect of the alliance between Nissan and the French manufacturer Renault and brought Mitsubishi in 2016.

The fall of grace for the titan of the industry has attracted the attention of the whole world. He also highlighted the struggles within the alliance of automakers and the Japanese legal system.

His wife Carole Ghosn went to France by plane to ask the government of this country to intervene on behalf of her husband.
