CBS's 28 O & O stations are weakening for more than 6 million AT & T DirecTV and U-Verse subscribers, while Eye and AT & T are vying for a new retransmission license agreement .
The outage affects CBS and CW affiliates in 14 major markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. The CBS Sports cable channel and the Smithsonian channel are also removed.
The executives of CBS and AT & T have traded up to Friday night at 11 pm. The expiry date of the PT contract is approaching. AT & T said in a long statement that it was proposing to continue negotiations to avoid a break in service, but that CAS refused.
