CCTV footage showing armed thieves on motorcycles during their robbery mission that claimed the life of a police officer, Emmanuel Osei, has finally been shared online.

In a video shared on Pinax Tv’s YouTube channel, it was explained that footage was recorded by a store owner’s CCTV camera near the site of the theft in James Town on June 14, 2021.

However, it is not clear if this particular footage came from the store owner, as he previously refused to air it.

In the video, the armed robbers could be seen moving around different parts of the municipality, riding behind the ingot van once and fleeing another time.

Deductions from the video suggest that the bullion van carrying the stolen money was followed by the gunmen for a considerably long time.

It also showed that motorcycle thieves wore helmets, which contrasts with previous eyewitness accounts.

Meanwhile, the family of Afia Badu, one of the victims of the bullion van theft incident near the Korle-Bu neighborhood of James Town in Accra, responded to the incident.

Badu’s mother and other family members expressed shock at the unfortunate fate that befell her.
