New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director Yaw Buabeng Asamoah mocked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for calling for the release of the report of the Emile Short Commission by the president to investigate the circumstances the by-elections of Ayawaso West Wuogon in January.

According to him, the party has no reason to ask for the report because he boycotted it early and banned its members from appearing before the commission.

Speaking with KT on Angel FM and monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he laughed uncontrollably when the case was raised and said that the NDC was talking about this problem only to find an excuse for not cooperating with the Peace Council to set the rules for dismantling self defense groups today.

He described the CND's request as shameful and disrespectful to the people of Ghana and asked him to give the national question all the commitment it deserves, rather than choosing the right time for it.

NDC legal team spokesman, lawyer Abraham Amaliba, said his party had the right to demand the report because the commission was being sponsored with the money from the taxpayer.

According to him, the attitude of the lawyer, Mr. Yaw Buaben Asamoah, showed only his lack of understanding of the democratic processes of Ghana.
