Former Deputy Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, said the party would no longer leave its campaign in the hands of foreigners.

He said the NDC had lost the 2016 elections as about 1 million party supporters had not voted because they were indifferent to the treatment of the campaign.

"What message did we use to campaign, was it a strong message? Who led the campaign in 2016, are we going to use the same tactics when we have executives, party leaders and national leaders; however, the campaign was conducted by people who did not understand the philosophy and history of the party, no! So, never again will we put our campaign in the hands of strangers.

He added, "For celebrities, yes, we appreciate their music and their movies, but we should never give up the NDC campaign to celebrities." They want to be part of the party, they have to join branches ".

Koku Anyidoho made the remarks on Saturday in Koforidua in an interview with the media on the sidelines of the conference of national executives organized in collaboration with Fredrich-Elbert Stefftung for the southern sector under the theme: Tracing the spirit of probability and responsibility – the role of managers.

The oldest justice minister and attorney general, Obed Yao Asamoah, who spoke at the event, said the NDC party should position itself in the workings of probity and accountability. . party leaders.

"There is no virtue in poverty. Many of you are old managers who have worked for the party, but nothing proves it. There is no reward for this because we have never been able to organize a situation in which we had sufficient resources to take care of our people. And we are in the situation that even within the party, if anyone wants to lead the party, he must be able to have his own resources to campaign to direct it. We should now develop resources for the party to choose candidates based on their quality and not on the basis of the money they have.

Former Eastern Minister Comrade Antwi Bosiako said that the policies of the government in power "hurt more people than contribute to making the NPP very unpopular day after day".

He added that the NDC must therefore return to its principles of probity and responsibility in order to give hope to Ghanaians.
