GNA – Customs, Excise and Prevention
Taskforce vehicle (CEPS) bearing registration number GW 8114-16, was launched on Monday
on a police officer killing him instantly at the Aflao border.

Nana Komla, who was part of the Criminal Accident Investigation Squad
Department (CID) was heading towards the Aflao border when it would have hit a

vehicle, which fell on its way and crashed after landing in the
track of the CEPS vehicle, allegedly pursued a smuggler.

Superintendent
Obrako Bempah, commander of the Aflao police, confirmed the incident in Ghana News
The Agency and said that the mortal remains of the officer had been sent to Accra for
autopsy.

He said both
the drivers were in custody as part of the investigation.
