A grand constitutional presentation ceremony to give effect to the creation of the Northeast and Savanna regions is underway at the Jubilee House in Accra.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will officially present the CI 116 to the chiefs and residents of the Northeast region, whose capital is Nalerigu, and will sign a document of attestation to seal the process.
Prior to the official presentation, key stakeholder statements, including the Minister of Regional Reorganization and Development, Mr. Dan Kwaku Botwe, as well as a spokesperson for chiefs and residents of Northeast, praised President Akufo's determination and leadership. -Addo.
The spokesman, Naa Bohigu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, thanked the president and expressed hope that the creation of the new region would serve only for development purposes and nothing else.
He pointed out the glaring lack of infrastructure in the area and called on all citizens to send him back for him to unite to develop the premises, saying the dream was just beginning.

Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia and a representative group of politicians from the majority and minority groups were also present.
Similar ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 to complete the creation of the Bono East and Ahafo regions, while the North West and Oti regions will have their turn on Friday, February 15, 2019.
