CERT Polska warns against false text messages InPost and OLX

Fraud involving the sending of SMS with an additional payment request is not new. The media have repeatedly warned about this, but people continue to give victims such scams. CERT Polska warns against another wave of such events.

This type of fraud can be difficult to detect because criminals intelligently use the imperfections of smartphone apps with messages that they group the conversations into a single thread based on the sender's namey, even when text messages come from different sources.

CERT Polska warns against another SMS campaign using the image of InPost and OLX. False messages appear between real people, simply as a result of group discussions. Direct SMS links to DotPay fraudulent payment pages in domains inpost24[.]me, olx-payment[.]online, payment[.]Super-salary[.]me. This allows the cheater to access the victim's bank account and capture the SMS confirming the transaction.

People who send and receive many parcels and actively use in mail-order shops, Alllegro or OLX, they may not even notice that the cheat message contains SMS containing real information. This can result in the loss of all funds in your account.
