Cesc Fabregas breaks the silence on Monaco's decision to sack Thierry Henry

Cesc Fabregas pronounced on Monaco's decision to sack Thierry Henry.

The former Chelsea midfielder joined Ligue 1 in January while Henry was attempting to develop a plan to withdraw from the relegation zone.

But Henry was sacked after just 104 days heading Monaco, with former president Leonardo Jardim replacing the Arsenal legend at the helm.

Fabregas was invited to give his opinion on the council 's decision to let Henry go, knowing that he has just agreed to play under his orders.

"Football does not wait for anyone, unfortunately, maybe it has not had time to do all its projects, we are now in a new situation."

At the same time, the Vice President of Monaco, Vadim Vasilyev, defended the decision.

"Our club is going through a very difficult time and I am willing to admit that I personally bear the responsibility," Vasilyev said.

"We must recognize that during the summer transfer period, we sold too many key players and, despite considerable investment, mistakes were made regarding their replacement.

"It did not allow us to create a new competitive team, and the decision to fire Leonardo Jardim was also premature.

"The time spent by Leonardo Jardim at AS Monaco, as I said when he left, will be remembered as one of the brightest chapters in the history of the club."
