Champions League final: Georginio Wijnaldum explains why Liverpool is not favorite against Tottenham

Georginio Wijnaldum insisted that Liverpool will not be a favorite of Saturday's Champions League final, despite a win over Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Jurgen Klopp's team scored a total of 97 points, the club's record, second of the season, 26 ahead of Tottenham, fourth.

Liverpool also beat Mauricio Pochettino's men at home and away, imposing on Wembley but needing a late goal to take the three points to Anfield.

Wijnaldum does not believe that Saturday's final at Wanda Metropolitano can be easily predicted.

"I do not really think about favorites because in a game, anything can happen. In 90 or 95 minutes, two teams will have a chance to win the match, "he said.

"Everyone makes us favorites because we finished higher than them in the league and we won twice against them, but if you look at the second game in the second half, it was quite difficult.

"For a long time, the match seemed to end on a score of 1-1, but we had a bit of luck for the second goal.

"If you compare the teams, the score is 50-50 if you can win the game. That's why it's important to start the game right, focus and give everything we have. "

While it will be the first European Cup final at Tottenham, it will be the second time in Liverpool in as many years.

The disappointment of losing to Real Madrid in Kiev last season has favored their pbadage to the finals this year, and Wijnaldum believes that the experience can push them beyond the line.
