Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will change his team number in Liverpool this summer.
The 25-year-old English midfielder has played only two league games this season after recovering from a crucial injury that he had suffered the previous season.
Chamberlain, under contract until 2022, will move from number 21 to number 15 for the 2019/20 season.
This is the jersey left vacant by Daniel Sturridge at the start – a player that Jurgen Klopp has described as a "Super modern nowadays".
Goalkeeper Alisson has already changed his temporary number 13 to a more appropriate number 1, while Fabinho should also receive a new number this summer.
The Brazilian midfielder, who signed to Monaco, has been temporarily badigned the number 3, which could be picked up by Andy Robertson, while Fabinho would behave better with a traditional midfielder role.
Oxlade-Chamberlain will also personally reimburse all fans who have already purchased a replica of the 2019-20 jersey marked "Chamberlain 21" in exchange for an identical exchange for a "Chamberlain 15" jersey.
The CFL website stated: "The offer applies to all jerseys purchased at official club outlets and via the official CFL online store by June 5, 2019 at midnight."
