More than 120 migrants have arrived in England after attempting to cross the Channel so far this weekend.
Border Force treated 103 people on six boats on Saturday, while French authorities prevented three ships from entering British waters.
Another 20 people in two incidents have been dealt with by the UK so far on Sunday, the Home Office confirmed.
Border Force is currently facing an ongoing small boat incident, he added.
The Coast Guard fixed-wing aircraft and border force ships Searcher, Vigilant and Neptune searched British waters.
A boat, with about 30 people on board, was rescued about 23 miles off Beachy Head after it was “in trouble” on Saturday.
The government has said it will assess each person and seek to remove those who do not have the legal right to stay.
Immigration Compliance Minister Chris Philp said: “Legislative changes are being made to the law to allow cases to be treated as inadmissible if they have passed through a safe country.
The number of migrants arriving in the UK by boat was four times higher in 2020 than in 2019, according to official figures.
At least 8,400 people made the crossing in 2020 while the previous year, 1,844 did.
