Paul Frimpong Manso
The president of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council of Ghana said that the two dominant political parties in the country still have a long way to go to advance their policies.
Reverend Paul Frimpong Manso said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) do not understand politics.
"We have been polarized for so many years and we still do not know that political parties come to power to improve the lives of citizens. It seems like people in this country come to power for their personal development.
"So, whatever they do to gain power, it's not because they're committed to the national interest," he told Evans Mensah, when from the Ghana Connect talk show, Friday.
The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Church, said that he pitied young people who supported politicians and committed despicable acts when their families rested comfortably elsewhere.
"When politicians say" let's all die "and walk" feet for feet ", if the situation arose, would their wives and children be in the front line to do it?
"It is sad that we are always vigilant in Ghanaian politics when we have the police and all the security institutions," he lamented.
He said such agencies should be smart and adhere to the principles of their jobs and not let themselves be used as pawns by the two dominant political parties when they take office.
Reverend Frimpong Manso has decried how the NDC and the NPP solve any problem, whether they are in power or in opposition.
According to him, the stories of Atewa and Chereponi do not differ from what happened in the constituency of Ayawaso West Wuogon last week.
He said that the fact that the country is being dishonored on the international scene is not a good thing given the way Ghana is still presented as the symbol of democracy in Africa.
He advised young people not to be used by politicians.
"The political foundations of the country are wrong and, unless we correct them, it will be a new ride in the next 60 years," said Reverend Frimpong Manso.
