Championship side Preston North End is in talks with forward Ched Evans for a six-month loan.
The recording of the former Wales striker is held by Fleetwood Town.
However, last month’s manager Joey Barton said Evans would leave the League One club due to “discipline and behavior problems”.
It is understood that a number of clubs have expressed interest in the 32-year-old.
However, Preston is looking for a player to push them to the play-off spots, while a move to Deepdale would allow Evans to stay in the Northwest.
