Hudson-Odoi had almost left Stamford Bridge in January when he had submitted a transfer request in order to force the German giant Bayern to move.

The 18-year-old winger was hoping to have more playing time under the then boss, Maurizio Sarri, but the club refused to give in and he was forced to stay.

But Lampard has now taken steps to rebadure him that he is firmly committed to his first team plans and can expect to be involved more often.

"It's going to be the focus of our field concerns and it's the opportunity that really presents itself to him now," he said.

"So that's what I'm going to talk to him about and I hope he stays.

"I'm not going to say things that are pie in the sky, I'm not going to say," It's all going to be your way. "

"But knowing his talent, he can be at the center of this team, he can be at the center of an English team.

"I will say that I want to work with him, I want to move him forward.

"I want to improve him as a player and he can show right here at Chelsea, the club where he was admitted to the Academy, that he will be an absolute world clbad player, because I really believe it. "

Lampard may have no choice but to use Hudson-Odoi because Eden Hazard has gone to Real Madrid this summer and he can not replace another.

Hudson-Odoi is still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury suffered in April, but it is recovering at an incredible speed. Chelsea hopes that he will be in top form by October or November.

"I do not know what was the position of last year," added Lampard.

"What I know, is that before getting hurt, Callum could see when he had opportunities, he was playing well.

"He was showing the player what he is."

It seems that Lampard and Hudson-Odoi have already sat down to discuss his future and some reports suggest that he could have been offered a new contract.

Previously, he could have signed a five-year contract valued at around £ 100,000 per week.
